How an election runs
- Set it up.Create the election, add the positions and candidates, and register the voters.
- Open the booths.Approve the phones or tablets that will be booths, then open voting.
- Vote.An officer checks the voter in, a booth unlocks, and the voter taps their choice and confirms it. The vote is stored with no link to who cast it.
- Count in public. Results update on the election’s own page as votes come in. Anyone with the link can follow them.
Starting as a committee
Download the admin app and create your committee’s account from it. A person reviews each new committee before it can sign in. After that you also get the registration, kiosk and scanner apps.
Your committee only ever sees its own elections.

The Ballot is for private and local elections: unions, associations, cooperatives, churches and student groups whose members want a fair vote they can watch.
It is a young system, so here is plainly where it stands.
- Not certified for government or public elections, and not offered for them.
- ID-card check-in works today. Fingerprint check-in runs on a built-in test scanner; support for real fingerprint hardware is still being built.
- Ballot secrecy is part of how votes are stored, not only a promise.
- Results are public only for elections whose organizers choose to publish them.
